1st Mediterranean Lifesaving Championships 2024
Italy 14.05.2024. The Mediterranean Lifesaving Confederation (MLC) proudly announces the historic orchestration of the 1st Mediterranean Lifesaving Championships in Rome, Italy on 25-27/7/2024.
This is the first time that championships will take place connecting lifesavers from the 3 continents of Europe, Asia and Africa who will proudly represent a population of almost 750 million citizens. The championships include pool events that will take place at the Stadio del Nuoto in Rome. Eligible for participation are National Teams and Clubs affiliated with the national organizations that are MLC members.
The “architect” of the MLC and Secretary General of the International Life Saving Federation, Dr Harald Vervaecke, said: “This is a historic moment for the Mediterranean basin. Time will justify our vision to establish this confederation for including lifesaving sport in the Mediterranean Games and the Mediterranean Beach Games!”
The MLC President, Giorgio Quintavalle and the MLC Secretary General, Dr Stathis Avramidis said: “We are making history by connecting the dots of Europe, Africa and Asia. United we will make a difference in advancing the lives of Mediterranean people through the sport that saves lives!”
